It is easy to badmouth Hip-Hop artists today because of the over saturation of just plain bad rap. There is a proliferation of subject matters and topics like women's bodies, money, sex, violence, and ignorance, that only deepen the wound that America has left on black people. The corporate offices in the music industry want little to nothing to do with not music that does not sell, but music that is positve. I smell conspiracy, conspiracy to brainwash black people. Hip-Hop is supposed to be the voice of the people, and now it is stifiled by the corporate offices and keep young, impressionable black minds in a state of malaise. Take it from Too Short, who may not seem to be the most positive rapper in the game, but he has had some efforts to balance his repertoire and explains the evils of the corporation of music. Let us take back our music, our culture, and make it about revolution, as it should be. If revolution is not in the minds of our youth, who are supposed to represent the future and what revolting is all about, then aour future seems grim.
These are the Sounds of Revolution.
